The Eligibility Specialist at Mountain Park Health Center plays a crucial role in assisting patients with the application process for government discount programs and medical assistance programs. The specialist must maintain compliance with regulations and provide excellent service to patients while meeting productivity requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients in understanding their health benefit options and facilitate their enrollment in health benefits.
  • Create and complete accurate applications for medical assistance programs offered by MPHC.
  • Ensure all support documentation and signatures are included with the eligibility application, as required.
  • Transfer income and other required information into the Practice Management System and assign appropriate discount plans to eligible patients.
  • Meet productivity requirements and collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service to patients.
  • Understand and apply the rules and regulations regarding medical assistance programs as instructed by the department manager.
  • Complete all training offered by the department manager or the health center as approved.
  • Follow established workflows, policies, and procedures for accurate data input in practice management systems.
  • Stay current with the rules and regulations regarding medical assistance programs offered by the organization.
  • Complete the required certification and license for federal and state eligibility enrollment programs.
  • Maintain program compliance by producing accurate work and meeting expectations for audits.
  • Learn about and implement new medical assistance programs as needed.
  • Travel to multiple locations as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in benefit qualification, assessment, or processing.
