About the position
The Eligibility Technician 2 position at the State of Alaska's Department of Family and Community Services involves providing timely and accurate eligibility determinations and benefit authorizations for Title IV-E and Medicaid programs. Responsibilities
- Provide eligibility determinations and benefit authorizations for Title IV-E and Medicaid programs.
- Process Medicaid for children in state adoption and guardianship subsidy.
- Assist with applications for Social Security benefits.
- Identify, research, and resolve inconsistencies and discrepancies in eligibility cases.
- Provide coverage for vacant positions and support centralized eligibility functions.
Requirements
- One year of entry-level experience as an Eligibility Technician 1 with the State of Alaska.
- One year of similar work experience that developed knowledge in applying program requirements and working with clients in stressful situations.
- Post-secondary education in relevant fields may substitute for required experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in social work or human services.
- Knowledge of Medicaid and Title IV-E programs.
