About the position
The emERge Emergency Veterinarian Training Program at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Franklin, TN is designed for veterinary school graduates who aspire to become successful Emergency Veterinarians. This full-time program combines intensive training, hands-on experience, and mentorship to equip participants with the necessary skills and confidence to handle emergency veterinary cases. The program includes a structured curriculum over a year, culminating in a work commitment to ensure practical application of learned skills.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a 16-week accelerated boot camp with hands-on labs and case-based lectures.
- Engage in 20 weeks of hands-on training under the guidance of an experienced clinician mentor.
- Complete 16 weeks of experiential training with continued mentoring.
- Prepare for solo emergency shifts at BluePearl hospitals after training.
- Learn and apply principles of emergency veterinary medicine, including resuscitation, fluid therapy, and emergency procedures.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- CPR Certification.
- Completion of a pharmacy residency is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills and conflict management abilities.
- Interest in emergency veterinary medicine and a passion for animal health.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in emergency medicine or veterinary practice is a plus.
- Mentoring experience or a desire to mentor others in the field.
