About the position

The Ohio State University is seeking a results-oriented Email and CRM Marketing Manager to enhance its online presence and engage diverse audiences through impactful marketing campaigns. This role involves executing and measuring targeted campaigns across various digital channels, including email, CRM, SMS, social media, and online advertising, to support the goals of the Advancement team and Alumni Association. The position requires strong expertise in HTML, automation, and cross-channel strategies, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate projects that advance specific direct digital marketing channels strategies and goals.
  • Develop and implement targeted email and SMS campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Provide oversight and design dynamic emails for various stakeholders, including alumni and donors.
  • Develop personalized communication workflows based on donor giving history and engagement levels.
  • Leverage data to create page optimizations and A/B testing opportunities.
  • Optimize email templates, landing pages, and other direct digital marketing channels.
  • Build texting campaigns for events and alumni activities.
  • Assist in creating responsive designs via HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the university to ensure alignment of marketing efforts.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and manage content on landing pages.
  • Create wireframes and mockups to visualize landing page layouts and user flows.
  • Craft visually compelling content and analyze social media analytics for campaign optimization.
  • Develop and manage content for the Alumni Association's and Advancement's websites.
  • Execute direct digital advertising campaigns across platforms like Google Ads and Facebook.
  • Coordinate with graphic designers and vendors to develop high-quality media assets.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Track and analyze campaign performance to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in Marketing, Communications, or Digital Media.
  • Four years of relevant experience in digital marketing.
  • Experience with social media platforms, email marketing tools, and digital advertising platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Analytics).
  • Experience using SEO and SEM best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Four to eight years of experience in digital marketing.
  • Certified in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or marketing automation tools.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or similar design software.
  • Familiarity with various platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Tableau.
  • Experience with Google Analytics and other web analytics tools.
  • Experience working in a higher education or non-profit setting.
  • Knowledge of SQL or other data query languages.
