About the position

The Email Marketing Director at Miles Partnership plays a pivotal role in leading the Email Marketing Team, which is responsible for strategic marketing initiatives encompassing the full life cycle of email automation, user journey, CRM, compliance, and other email services for both internal and external stakeholders. This position requires a highly visible and cross-functional approach, where the Director organizes and manages the day-to-day workflow of all projects, acting as a liaison between the email marketing team and account service teams. The Director will work closely with clients and senior leadership, serving as a thought leader in the email marketing space, and will be responsible for developing strategies, programs, and initiatives that align with the organization’s long-term goals and objectives. Candidates for this role must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to manage and collaborate with a team of creative and technical professionals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing multiple programs and projects simultaneously, thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, and adapting quickly to changing priorities. The Email Marketing Director will also be expected to implement high-performing email marketing programs while motivating and leading the team to achieve success. This role requires a leader who is innovative, detail-oriented, and capable of distilling complex challenges into clear, actionable solutions that support both client and team objectives. In addition to leading the email marketing team, the Director will be responsible for driving innovations and enhancements in email marketing strategies, acting as a trusted contact for internal teams, and representing Miles Partnership in various meetings and industry events. The role also involves analyzing key performance metrics, gathering customer insights, and fostering a positive environment for client and team success.

Responsibilities

  • Leads by example for the email marketing team with an exceptional ability to push strategies for CRMs, automation, user journey, and implementation across a team of creatives, content writers, developers, email marketing managers, and account services.
  • Master of email system platforms, integrations, marketing technology systems, and pushing boundaries of success requirements.
  • Grows, manages and leads a team of email marketing subject matter experts, providing guidance, coaching, and support to foster a high-performing and collaborative environment.
  • Drives email marketing innovations, enhancements, and evolution beyond client requests, scope, and current services, considering potential impacts and overall company benefits in partnership with cross functional teams.
  • Acts as the trusted first contact for internal teams on email marketing challenges, new ideas, conference speaking opportunities, and pitches, establishing industry expertise in travel and tourism.
  • Represents Miles Partnership and client accounts in meetings virtually and in-market and builds strong relationships with clients, internal teams and industry stakeholders.
  • Manages day-to-day deliverables in collaboration with the client and production teams.
  • Identify and provide ongoing key measurements. Analyzes reporting with suggestions for corresponding program adjustments.
  • Develop strategic business cases working with cross-functional teams outlining business opportunity, rationale, and execution plans to achieve the vision for the opportunity across teams and services.
  • Gather customer insights and feedback and drive the learnings back into and across the organization.
  • Responsible for creating a positive environment for client success, team success and Miles success.

Requirements

  • 8+ years directly related to strategic email services for automation, user journey, compliance, and data management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of creative processes and techniques - including digital platforms.
  • 5+ years of experience in cross-functional teams within an agency preferred.
  • 2+ years experience managing a team of people 5 or more.
  • 5+ years of experience working with mid-senior level customers to understand the motivation, timeframe and acceptable level of effort for agency projects.
  • Expert knowledge of email system platforms, cross-functional team collaboration and project management tools.
  • Excellent ability to adapt and drive processes for email marketing through innovation, problem-solving, new service development and ongoing support of email lifecycle.
  • Exceptional ability to create & manage complex schedules with overlapping priorities and deadlines and adapt to shift priorities quickly and examine issues both strategically.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to effectively manage relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Display a dependable, strong work ethic.
  • Responds positively and constructively to client and peer feedback.
