About the position

The Email Marketing Specialist/Project Manager will be responsible for developing and analyzing email marketing campaigns for various clients in the building products industry. This role involves executing email campaigns, managing the email marketing calendar, and optimizing strategies to drive engagement and revenue performance. The position requires collaboration with designers and copywriters, as well as the use of web analytics to assess customer journeys and improve overall marketing effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and execute all email campaigns, including building emails from templates and HTML, copywriting, asset coordination, QA, and scheduling.
  • Support various strategic programs via manual and triggered campaigns across the customer lifecycle including prospecting, win-back, nurturing, post-purchase, loyalty, retention, surveys, and transactional emails.
  • Build effective target audiences and segments for every message to drive engagement and revenue performance against KPI goals.
  • Manage and execute email marketing calendar and ensure alignment with business priorities, demand forecasts, and internal stakeholders.
  • Use customer data such as web-behavior to drive the message and content personalization.
  • Devise and execute A/B tests, manage testing calendar, record results, and advise on improvements.
  • Work in partnership with designers and copywriters to optimize email creative and template structure based on best practices.
  • Mitigate email frequency between program touchpoints to minimize database churn.
  • Perform render testing across devices, email clients, and ISPs to ensure that emails are rendering correctly for the majority of the subscriber base.
  • Develop and manage lead nurturing programs with segmentation and dynamic content, optimizing for lead quality and sales handoff.
  • Implement lead scoring models that leverage behavioral and demographic insights, aligning with clients' sales team priorities and goals.
  • Provide regular campaign performance reports that include opens, clicks, conversions, revenue, revenue lift, unsubscribes, etc. and recommendations for improvement.
  • Regularly identify trends and email marketing strategies from other leading global brands to glean insights on best practices and new innovative ideas for email marketing tactics.
  • Constantly look for new ways to improve overall programs through new technology, tools, partners, trends, and best practices.
  • Incorporate web analytics and assessment of the customer journey across websites, digital tools, and mobile applications for ongoing improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or relevant field.
  • 4+ years' experience in digital marketing, with focus on email marketing and ecommerce.
  • 3+ years' experience in email marketing required.
  • Experience with Marketo and Eloqua are a must.
  • Experience with CRM platforms and lead scoring.
  • Experience optimizing digital and social media shopping campaigns on various ecommerce platforms.
  • Understand and apply user interface/experience best practices.
  • Experience with web/heatmapping analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Hotjar).
  • Detailed knowledge of email regulations, best practices, and compliance internationally in various regulatory regimes (e.g., GDPR, CASL, CAN-SPAM).
  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Proven written, verbal, analytical and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Agency experience a plus.
  • 3+ years' experience in ecommerce marketing a plus.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles a plus.
