About the position

The Embark Scholar Intern position at KPMG is designed for students pursuing a career in accounting, tax, or advisory services. This internship provides an opportunity to rotate through various business areas, gaining hands-on experience and understanding of how KPMG serves its clients. Interns will engage in a variety of tasks, including data analysis, report preparation, and collaboration with engagement teams, all while contributing to the integrity of financial information.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through audit, tax, and advisory businesses to learn about client service and professional services careers.
• Provide assignments across practices, supporting audit methodology and Data and Analytics (D&A) tasks.
• Assist engagement teams in creating work paper files, preparing client reports, and organizing business development activities.
• Identify engagement capabilities, review client materials, and propose analysis strategies.
• Leverage technologies and analytics tools to support engagement efforts.
• Contribute to the integrity and transparency of financial information.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Accountancy, Taxation, or related degree.
• Intention to obtain a CPA is preferred for accounting majors.
• Completion of at least 1 semester of coursework at the time of application is required.
• Must have at least 3 additional semesters to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements after the internship.
• Preferred GPA of 3.00 or above.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in professional settings.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior participation in KPMG leadership programs or similar organizations is preferred.
• Experience in diversity student organizations or community leadership is a plus.
