About the position

The Embark Scholar Intern position at KPMG is designed for early career individuals pursuing a degree in accounting or related fields. This internship provides an opportunity to rotate through various audit, tax, and advisory services, allowing interns to gain hands-on experience and insights into the professional services industry. The program emphasizes individual development, inclusivity, and community support, making it an excellent starting point for a career in accounting and finance.

Responsibilities

  • Rotate through audit, tax, and advisory businesses to learn client service operations.
  • Provide assignments across practices, supporting audit methodology and Data and Analytics (D&A) tasks.
  • Assist engagement teams in creating work paper files, preparing client reports, and organizing business development activities.
  • Identify engagement capabilities, review client materials, and propose analysis strategies.
  • Leverage technologies and analytics tools to enhance service delivery.
  • Contribute to the integrity and transparency of financial information.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Accountancy, Taxation, or related degree.
  • Intention to obtain a CPA is preferred for accounting majors.
  • Completion of at least 1 semester of coursework at the time of application is required.
  • Must have at least 3 additional semesters to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements after the internship.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.00 or above.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in professional settings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior participation in KPMG leadership programs or similar organizations is preferred.
  • Experience in diversity student organizations or community leadership roles.
