About the position

KPMG is seeking an Embark Scholar Intern for the Summer 2026 program, specifically designed for students pursuing a career in accounting. This internship offers a unique opportunity to rotate through various departments, including audit, tax, and advisory services, allowing interns to gain a comprehensive understanding of how KPMG serves its clients. The program is structured to provide a spectrum of assignments across different practices, enabling interns to work closely with engagement teams and support the application of audit methodologies and Data and Analytics (D&A). Interns will engage in tasks such as data extraction and analysis, contributing to the creation of work paper files, preparing client reports, and organizing business development activities. As part of the internship, participants will assist in identifying the scope of engagement capabilities, reviewing client materials, and providing insights that can enhance the execution of projects. Interns will also leverage a variety of technologies and analytics tools to contribute to the integrity and transparency of financial information. Throughout the internship, KPMG emphasizes the importance of acting with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility, fostering a respectful and courteous work environment. This internship is open to students enrolled in accredited colleges or universities, pursuing degrees in Accountancy, Taxation, or related fields. Responsibilities

  • Rotate through audit, tax, and advisory businesses to learn and understand client service.
  • Provide assignments across practices and support engagement teams with audit methodology and D&A tasks.
  • Assist in creating work paper files, preparing client reports, and organizing business development activities.
  • Identify the scope of engagement capabilities and review client materials to provide insights.
  • Leverage technologies and analytics tools to support engagement efforts.
  • Contribute to the integrity and transparency of financial information.
  • Act with integrity and professionalism to uphold KPMG's respectful work environment.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Accountancy, Taxation, or related degree.
  • Intention to obtain a CPA is preferred for accounting majors.
  • Completion of at least 1 semester of coursework at the time of application is required.
  • Must have at least 3 additional semesters to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements after the internship.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.00 or above.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in professional settings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior participation in KPMG leadership programs or similar leadership programs from other organizations is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, task, time management, and leadership skills.
