About the position

The Embedded AI Co-Op or Intern position at Schneider Electric focuses on working with On-Device AI topics, primarily involving the development and optimization of machine learning models for embedded devices. The role is designed for current students pursuing degrees in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, offering opportunities to engage in data analysis, model creation, and firmware debugging. This position is available for a January or Summer 2025 start date, with options for full or part-time work.

Responsibilities

• Understand the data pipeline from embedded device to cloud and communication between them
• Analyze data of similar devices available in cloud platform, identify patterns and derive insights
• Create machine learning models that can run on embedded or edge devices using available dataset
• Optimize and Deploy ML models into the firmware of embedded devices for inference
• Evaluate models using appropriate loss functions and fine tune the models by retraining
• Work on low level embedded devices and debug the firmware for issues

Requirements

• Current student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++
• Familiarity with standard AI frameworks or libraries such as TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch, Keras
• Experience with Python modules such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib
• Knowledge of Embedded/Edge Device models such as TinyML, SLM
