About the position

The Embedded Controls Hardware Co-Op position at Collins Aerospace offers students an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the aerospace industry while completing their degree. This role involves working alongside experienced engineers in the Electric Power Embedded Controls department, engaging in various engineering tasks related to hardware lifecycle management. The co-op is designed to provide meaningful work aligned with academic studies, exposure to leadership, and opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities

  • Apply fundamental knowledge to embedded controls engineering tasks as assigned by a lead engineer.
  • Engage in controls engineering practices covering the hardware lifecycle, including requirements engineering, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and project management.
  • Prepare and publish necessary project documents for specification, design, testing, and deployment of hardware.
  • Participate in project discussions, walk-throughs, reviews, and inspections.
  • Assist engineers with project administration and technical analysis tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical components.
  • Familiarity with working in a lab and using electronic test equipment.
  • Familiarity with Excel and circuit simulation software.
