About the position

Phase Technologies is seeking an Embedded Electrical Engineer to contribute to the development of innovative products centered around power switching technology. The successful candidate will engage in all stages of product development, starting from the initial specification of product functionality to collaborating with team members for hardware implementation and writing the necessary software to bring the product to life. This role is crucial in ensuring that the products meet the high standards of quality and functionality that Phase Technologies is known for. The engineer will be expected to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, providing leadership and guidance throughout the product development process. This includes supporting other staff in failure analysis and offering technical support for products, ensuring that all aspects of the product lifecycle are addressed effectively. The position requires a strong foundation in electrical and computer engineering principles, with a focus on embedded systems. The engineer will need to demonstrate solid debugging skills and the ability to tackle complex problems that may arise during the development process. Effective communication skills, both written and oral, are essential for collaborating with various departments and ensuring a cohesive team atmosphere. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, as the company is not sponsoring any visas at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in all phases of product development from initial specification to implementation.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement hardware and write software for products.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams through the product development process.
  • Support staff in failure analysis and provide product technical support.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to foster a team atmosphere.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in hands-on hardware and firmware design.
  • Working knowledge of signal processing, communication protocols, PCB layout, and programming languages.
  • Experience with embedded systems implementation using flash-based microcontrollers, DSP, and CPLD.
  • Solid debugging skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Organizational and leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient with embedded test equipment.
  • Experience with software such as Altium Designer, C/C++, and VB.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols like USB, SPI, I2C, RS-232/485.
  • Experience in graphical user interface and human interface device design.
