About the position

The Sr. Embedded Firmware Engineer at Apple is responsible for defining and developing software platforms for Home and Audio products. This role requires a skilled engineer with a passion for innovation and product development, overseeing the entire firmware lifecycle from inception to delivery. The engineer will work collaboratively across teams to integrate technologies and solve complex problems, ensuring the development of high-quality firmware solutions.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, and maintain hardware and software systems for Apple home and audio products.
• Identify and integrate technologies vital to solve complex problems and build new product features.
• Drive large or complex projects throughout the full product and software development lifecycle, defining goals and ensuring milestone delivery.
• Collaborate in a multi-functional environment across various teams and levels of management.
• Optimize software for resource-constrained embedded systems.

Requirements

• 7+ years of embedded firmware development in bare-metal or RTOS environments.
• Strong coding skills in C/C++ in production environments.
• Experience in designing and implementing firmware platforms, including application/state machine, middleware, communications, drivers, and OS.
• Ability to influence and negotiate optimally at all levels of management.
• Clear understanding of customer experience and expected performance.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of audio, optical/image sensing technologies, ML model device integration, or platform security.
