About the position

The Embedded/Firmware Software Engineer position at Amazon Robotics involves developing and maintaining software for the world's largest fleet of industrial autonomous robots. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to innovate and implement solutions that enhance safety and performance in robotic systems. Engineers will engage in the full software development lifecycle, from design to testing, ensuring that products meet Amazon's high standards for safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robotic systems for Amazon's autonomous robot fleet.
• Master multiple components including networking, security, navigation, obstacle detection, and motor control.
• Participate in the architecture of complex systems and collaborate with team members to achieve goals.
• Provide feedback during the peer review process and communicate effectively with technical leadership.
• Create solutions that balance performance and safety in robotic systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• 2+ years of development experience in C or C++ within an embedded environment or robotic systems.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience including coding standards and testing.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Familiarity with safety standards controlled environments such as IEC 61508 or ISO 26262.
