About the position

The Embedded / Firmware Software Engineer at Amazon Robotics will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for developing and maintaining software for the world's largest fleet of industrial autonomous robots. This role focuses on creating innovative solutions that balance performance and safety, ensuring the robotic systems meet Amazon's high standards while enhancing the experience for associates in fulfillment centers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robotic systems for Amazon's autonomous robot fleet.
• Learn and master components such as networking/WiFi, security, navigation, obstacle detection, motor control, and various sensors.
• Participate in the architecture of complex systems and collaborate with team members to achieve goals.
• Provide feedback during the peer review process and communicate effectively with technical leadership.
• Create solutions that balance world-class performance with world-class safety.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• 2+ years of development experience in C or C++ within an embedded environment or with robotic systems.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and testing.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Familiarity with developing in a safety standards controlled environment such as IEC 61508 or ISO 26262.
