About the position

The Embedded Hardware Designer position at KWS Pvt. Ltd in Atlanta, GA, is a contract role focused on functional safety design and analysis for automotive electronic hardware products. The role requires collaboration with the electrical engineering team to create and maintain safety-related designs and analyses, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO26262.

Responsibilities

• Work independently on design tasks to lead the electrical hardware functional safety design.
• Design safety electronics electrical hardware products.
• Collaborate with the electrical engineering team to create the functional safety design and analysis.
• Support electrical DFMEA creation and maintenance.
• Create safety-related DFA, FMEDA, FTA for the hardware design.
• Review customer requirements and safety manuals.
• Support product design reviews.
• Assist other teams with the implementation of systems engineering processes, including cross-functional reviews of requirements and safety analyses.

Requirements

• 5+ years' experience in functional safety design and analysis.
• Experience with safety analysis and creation of DFA, DFMEA, FMEDA, FTA HARA.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Understanding of electrical circuits and their design.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive functional safety ISO 26262.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity and understanding of ISO26262, particularly parts 5, 8, and 9.
• Experience in automotive systems development life cycle.
• Experience in automotive serial communication protocols such as CAN & LIN.
• Experience in different microcontrollers and peripherals such as SPI, GPIO, PWM, etc.
• Experience in Doors, Medini tools Rhapsody.
