About the position

The Tactical Mobility (TacMo) Integrated Product Team (IPT) is at the forefront of developing and delivering innovative software and hardware solutions that enhance mission capabilities and support integrated warfighting efforts. This role is crucial in ensuring that the team meets both current and emerging needs of the fleet through agile and organic product development processes. The incumbent will play a key role in supporting TacMo products and deliverables, focusing on technology insertion initiatives that leverage commercial mobile technologies in tactical environments. The ultimate goal is to deliver accredited capabilities to the fleet, ensuring that the systems are not only functional but also meet the rigorous standards required for military operations. In this position, the engineer will be responsible for providing technical assistance and guidance for the operation and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment. This includes leading firmware development, implementation, and testing on various avionics components within TacMo's product line. The engineer will also determine requirements and technical specifications for modifications or the purchase of new equipment, ensuring that all systems are up to date and capable of meeting mission demands. Additionally, the role involves developing and maintaining procedures for complex automated test equipment, focusing on new capability development and process improvement. The engineer will prepare and review engineering and technical analyses, reports, and other documentation, ensuring that all technical publications are accurate and up to date. Recommendations, designs, and reports will be provided to Government representatives for review and follow-up, emphasizing the importance of clear communication and project management. The engineer will lead electronics engineering and project management processes to maintain schedule, budget, and functionality, ensuring that all projects are completed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and lead the firmware development, implementation, and testing on various avionics components within TacMo's product line.
  • Determine requirements and technical specifications for modifications and/or purchase of new equipment.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for maintaining complex automated test equipment, new capability development, and process improvement.
  • Prepare and review engineering and technical analyses, reports, and other technical documentation.
  • Review technical publication deficiency reports and update publications as necessary.
  • Provide recommendations, designs, and reports to Government representatives for final actions, review, and follow-up.
  • Lead electronics engineering and project management processes to maintain schedule, budget, and functionality.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience in embedded hardware engineering or a related field.
