About the position

The Senior Embedded Hardware Project Manager at Syn-Tech Systems, Inc. is responsible for leading and managing complex embedded hardware projects from conception to completion. This role requires a strong technical background in embedded hardware design and development, along with proven project management experience. The position involves coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery while adhering to quality and budgetary requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of embedded hardware projects, from initial concept and design through production, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, QA, and manufacturing to ensure project alignment and progress.
  • Define project scope, objectives, resources, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, risk management strategies, and resource allocation.
  • Track and report project performance, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining quality, budget, and technical requirements.
  • Manage and resolve project-related issues and risks, ensuring that project objectives are met.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates and ensuring effective communication across all project stages.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices for embedded hardware development.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project management processes.
  • Mentor and guide junior project managers or team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in embedded hardware design, development, or project management.
  • Proven experience managing complex, large-scale embedded hardware projects.
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems, hardware design processes, and product lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or similar software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., ISO, FCC, CE).
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience in designing or managing the development of embedded systems for industries such as automotive, consumer electronics, or industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of PCB design, microcontrollers, FPGAs, or ASICs.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain management for hardware products.
