About the position

The Embedded Hardware Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing and testing power and control systems for antenna prototypes and products. This role involves significant work in printed circuit board design, embedded firmware development in C, and test software development in Python. The position offers opportunities for personal and professional growth in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and test power and control systems for antennas.
• Perform printed circuit board design and layout.
• Write and deploy embedded firmware in C.
• Develop test software in Python.
• Engage in higher-level system design of active RF systems as responsibilities progress.

Requirements

• Must have US Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's Degree a plus).
• Experience designing and troubleshooting analog and digital circuits.
• Experience with microcontroller programming in C.
• Proficiency with electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A desire to find, explore, and solve new and challenging problems.
• Comfortable in a lab environment.
• Resiliency to fail fast and often.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with real-time operating systems for embedded systems.
• Experience in digital design using Verilog and/or VHDL.
• Experience with printed circuit board layout and assembly.
• Proficiency in Python for automating test equipment and data analysis.
• A proven capacity to contribute to multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Past experience with Altium Designer.
• Experience with RF devices and test equipment.
