About the position

The Embedded Product Analytics Senior Engineer at Caterpillar Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting product engineering teams by remotely collecting and analyzing engineering data from Caterpillar products. This position involves working with the SuperComm2 Command Center team and the Engineering Intelligence team to ensure efficient data streaming, storage, and access for engineers and data analysts. The role also includes developing and maintaining applications, migrating back-office applications to AWS cloud solutions, and troubleshooting data flow issues.

Responsibilities

• Support product engineering teams through remote collection and analysis of engineering data.
• Ensure high value SC2 data is received, converted, and stored for efficient access and analysis.
• Support the development and maintenance of SuperComm2 Command Center applications.
• Migrate back-office applications from on-premises servers to AWS cloud solutions.
• Develop embedded software for remote collection, storage, and transmission of engineering data.
• Troubleshoot issues with back-office data flow or SC2 Website as they arise.
• Develop application software for configuring remote data collection units.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in software development or related occupation.
• Experience with at least one coding language such as Python.
• Familiarity with cloud database technologies such as AWS, Snowflake, etc.
• Experience with AWS services like Lambda, SNS, and SQS.
• Knowledge of EC2, API Gateway, and Aurora.
• Proficiency in Git or similar version control software.
• Experience with CADeT & SuperComm2 (SC2).
• Familiarity with databases such as Oracle, Snowflake, and MySQL.
