About the position

The Embedded Software Application Engineer will be responsible for designing and releasing hardware and software solutions for electronic components in vehicle functions, particularly focusing on body controls and related functions. This role involves collaboration with global technology teams and Tier-1 suppliers, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring proper documentation of software configurations. The position is a 12-month contract with a first shift schedule, Monday to Friday, based in Greensboro, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Release hardware and software design solutions for Electronic components in Vehicle functions or body controls.
  • Collaborate with global technology development teams to track platform development progress and engage in discussions with Tier-1 suppliers.
  • Handle component installations for Body ECUs as needed.
  • Work with the truck integration team to resolve component-related issues.
  • Respond to defect reports and follow the defect report process for resolution.
  • Document software configurations for various variant combinations; Embedded Software release process is mandatory.
  • Utilize Canalyzer tools to analyze log files and perform troubleshooting.
  • Download software using factory, engineering, and service tools.
  • Perform minimum smoke tests on the bench before delivering to integration teams.
  • Participate in PI planning, break down features into stories and tasks, and follow up through sprints.
  • Work on trucks as needed to debug and troubleshoot issues.

Requirements

  • Experience with hardware and software design solutions for electronic components in vehicle functions.
  • Familiarity with global technology development and Tier-1 supplier collaboration.
  • Proficiency in following time plan activities and milestones.
  • Experience with component installations for Body ECUs.
  • Ability to work with truck integration teams to solve component-related issues.
  • Experience in responding to defect reports and following defect resolution processes.
  • Proficiency in documenting software configurations and Embedded software release processes.
  • Experience with Canalyzer tools for log file analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to download software using various tools and perform smoke tests.
  • Experience in PI planning and agile methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with debugging and troubleshooting on trucks.
