In this position, you will leverage your embedded systems experience and thorough understanding of rigorous software development processes to tackle a wide range of technical challenges encountered during the development of next-generation avionics systems. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with System Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Software Developers, and other technical professionals. Your success will be measured by how well system requirements are met through the combined efforts of Platform Hardware, Platform Software, and Applications Software Development teams. Belcan employees in similar roles support a diverse array of industry-leading companies, solving complex software and systems engineering problems across sectors such as aerospace/defense, space, energy, and commercial vehicles. You will utilize your experience to provide software development expertise and guidance, ensuring high-quality designs for our customers that are safe, reliable, and maintainable.

Responsibilities

  • Use effective verbal and written communications, technical drawings, and physical demonstration as needed to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Capture, understand, document, and review the software requirements, design, code, and test.
  • Support the development and management of software requirements, design, code and test baselines to enable development and integration.
  • Support the change control process, managing change control reports and generating and reporting metrics.
  • Perform work in accordance with DO-178C.
  • Demonstrate interest in the program vision through all endeavors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • 5-10 years of experience
  • DO-178 B or C experience
  • Safety critical experience
  • Board level embedded software development
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Nice-to-haves

  • Avionics industry experience
  • Electrical Engineering experience
  • Model Based Software development and/or MBSE
