Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, and Amazon Echo. We are looking for an Embedded Software Development Engineer to help design, develop, and integrate our next generation devices. In this role, you will work with customers, system architects, program managers, and hardware engineers to implement, troubleshoot, and fix kernel drivers and BSP for our next generation devices. You will be responsible for the development of real-time embedded firmware and embedded Linux software that implements security controls for the platform. As an Embedded Software Development Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C code. You will debug and troubleshoot issues in the Kernel drivers, BSP, and integration with OS frameworks. Identifying bottlenecks and bugs, you will devise solutions to problems found in product integration and the field. Your responsibilities will also include developing and implementing a wide range of low-level embedded software, including kernel device drivers, network stack development, and porting existing software to new embedded platforms. You will help maintain code quality, organization, and automation, and develop and maintain technical documentation. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members and participate in code and design reviews.
