About The Position

The Embedded Software Engineer for Project Kuiper will design, implement, and operate distributed systems that enable realistic simulations of Kuiper devices, including satellites and ground gateways. This role focuses on building scalable cloud services and APIs to facilitate high-quality software deployment and testing, ultimately enhancing broadband access for underserved communities.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Knowledge of networking protocols and applications, including TCP/IP, L1-L2, and QoS algorithms.
• Experience with FreeRTOS or any real-time operating system.
• Expertise with Linux and RTOS.

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement distributed cloud-based services and APIs.
• Develop tools for test execution across multiple environments, including virtualized hardware and real hardware-in-the-loop simulations.
• Invent new tools for reliable software deployment, test execution, and data analysis as part of a continuous integration system.
• Write high-quality Linux-based software for common processors and microcontrollers.
• Partner with device software, frontend, networking, and security engineering teams.
• Evangelize engineering excellence best practices and mentor junior engineers.
• Design and implement embedded modeling and simulation for broadband access technologies such as LTE, WiMax, and WiFi.
• Conduct systems integration and testing methodologies.
