About the position

The Embedded Software Engineer at Panasonic Avionics Corporation will be responsible for the research, design, and development of embedded software for in-flight entertainment systems. This role involves collaborating with a talented team to create innovative technology that enhances the passenger experience during flights. The engineer will work on complex software applications, develop tools for system configuration, and support system architecture and design, all while adhering to Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, modify, and implement complex software applications from functional and system design specifications.
  • Develop and document designs in engineering documents including functional block diagrams and data/logic flow charts.
  • Develop strategic and implementation plans for large-scale information systems.
  • Code, integrate, test, debug, and refine the software to produce the required product.
  • Develop software tools and subsystems to support software development, test, reuse, and manage implementation for projects requiring extensive investigation and clarification.
  • Support team and Systems Engineering with system architecture and design including software, hardware, communications, and interface requirements.
  • Enhance software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency and robustness.
  • Review, evaluate, and analyze design interfaces.
  • Prepare, review, and evaluate interface documentation, specifications, test plans and procedures.
  • Assist in definition, analysis, and allocation of requirements.
  • Support system test programs and analyze system testing results.
  • Participate in a complete software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies.
  • Provide technical guidance to lower-level engineers, designers and support personnel as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
  • 5+ years' of related experience.
  • 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
  • 5+ years of current hands-on development experience in C/C++ and development of networking related solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree is desired.
  • IFE System Development experience is a plus.
