About the position

The Embedded Software Engineering Manager for Cellular Modem Software at Apple is responsible for leading the development of next-generation cellular products. This role involves overseeing modem firmware architecture, design, development, and implementation, while collaborating with various engineering teams to deliver high-performance wireless products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded firmware and software architecture, along with significant experience in engineering management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of cellular modem firmware architecture and design.
• Collaborate with BSP, software, platform architecture, and hardware teams to deliver high-performance modem solutions.
• Manage all aspects of firmware development, including architecture, design, and maintenance.
• Oversee large and complex projects, including feature planning and prioritization.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the engineering team and with executives.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in wireless SoC firmware engineering.
• Experience in engineering management with a track record of leading wireless firmware teams.
• Strong embedded software fundamentals and understanding of design and development flows.
• Familiarity with low-level hardware interfaces and bare-metal software development.
• Experience with configuration and release management, continuous integration, and regression testing.
• Knowledge of wireless systems, including MAC and PHY layer operations.
• Experience with WiFi, Bluetooth, or similar wireless technologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
