About the position

The Embedded Tutor (Temporary) for Health Sciences at Austin Community College is responsible for providing tutoring assistance in Pharmacology and Health Science courses. This role focuses on enhancing student success through personalized tutoring sessions, organizing supplemental learning materials, and offering feedback on student progress. The tutor will work closely with students in both one-on-one and group settings, contributing to the overall academic achievement of the student population.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring sessions to embedded Health Science course sections.
• Assist students on a one-on-one or group basis in the subject discipline and college study skills.
• Organize supplemental learning materials for students.
• Provide feedback on student progress and performance.
• May assist with research, development, delivery, and evaluation of specialized tutoring services and resources.
• May lead study groups in the subject matter.

Requirements

• One semester of related work experience in tutoring or a similar role.
• Degree or substantial undergraduate coursework in the discipline being tutored, demonstrating competence in the subjects.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with tutoring techniques and standards.
• Familiarity with Learning Lab services and resources.
