About The Position

The Emergency Department Technician at East Madison Hospital plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care to patients in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center. This part-time position involves working evening and night shifts, assisting with patient treatment, and utilizing state-of-the-art equipment while ensuring effective communication with healthcare providers and families.

Requirements

• Completion of EMT-Basic required.
• EMT - Basic license or National Registry of EMT required.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Relevant experience in Emergency Departments, hospitals, or other healthcare entities preferred.
• Completion of AEMT or Paramedic program preferred.
• National Registry or Wisconsin Advanced Emergency Medical Technician or Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic license preferred.
• ACLS and PALS certification preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Emergency Departments or EMS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Assist with taking blood samples and starting IVs and catheters.
• Utilize state-of-the-art equipment in patient care.
• Communicate directly with providers, nurses, patients, and families regarding patient care.
• Record information in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Respond to pages and codes, assisting as directed.
• Act as an observer for behavioral health complaints.
