About The Position

The Emergency Management Coordinator at Clemson University is responsible for managing a variety of administrative and technical tasks related to emergency management. This role involves overseeing the development and maintenance of university plans, programs, and training for prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery across all university locations. The coordinator will work under the supervision of the Director of Emergency Management and will be involved in operations, planning, training, administrative duties, and emergency response.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in emergency management or related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in emergency management or related certifications.
• Experience with training and exercise design and evaluation.
• Knowledge of state and federal emergency management regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and management of Emergency Management (EM) Operations, including monitoring ongoing situations and making recommendations for EM support and response.
• Develop and obtain approval of on-call and response rosters, and EM response checklists/procedures.
• Advise staff and develop operational procedures to activate and maintain Emergency Operations Center (EOC) operations.
• Assist in the development and management of EM Planning, including coordination of Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment.
• Develop options and recommendations to reduce risk and coordinate implementation of approved solutions.
• Assist in the development and management of EM Training, including conducting training assessments and developing training programs.
• Maintain accurate records related to expenses, equipment accounts, and other key information.
• Remain available for 24-hour on-call response to serve as the EM Operations Officer during emergencies.
