About the position

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic position involves providing emergency and non-emergency medical care to patients in a variety of situations. The role requires maintaining a professional demeanor while ensuring patient safety and comfort during transport. EMTs will work in a friendly, family-oriented environment and are expected to adhere to company protocols and best practices while delivering care.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care according to protocols, company policies, and best practices.
• Ensure safe and efficient transport of patients to medical facilities.
• Transfer patient care information to receiving personnel at the destination.
• Document all aspects of patient condition and treatment on EMS run reports.
• Conduct regular unit inventory and equipment testing to ensure all equipment is present, clean, and in proper working order.
• Maintain full knowledge of the ambulance's basic life support equipment and its proper use.
• Document and report all needed repairs to the proper supervisor.
• Operate and drive the ambulance safely, following company driving guidelines.
• Attend all mandatory meetings as scheduled.
• Complete assigned station and grounds duties, such as cleaning work areas.
• Order supplies and equipment to replenish station and ambulance inventories as needed.
• Complete assigned ambulance duties, including cleaning the interior and exterior of the ambulance.
• Perform other duties as assigned, maintaining professionalism and respect with patients and coworkers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Georgia EMT License.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate professionally and effectively with employees and managers.
• Experience in providing on-site emergency medical services.
