About the position
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) position at Rocky Run Fire Company involves providing emergency medical services to the community. As part of a growing team, EMTs will respond to emergencies, administer care, and support the organization's mission to deliver high-quality service. This part-time role requires flexibility in scheduling, including 12-hour shifts and availability on weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls and provide medical assistance to patients.
- Administer basic life support and first aid as needed.
- Transport patients to medical facilities while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Maintain accurate patient care records and documentation.
- Collaborate with other emergency services and healthcare professionals.
- Participate in training and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Current certification as a PA Emergency Medical Technician/EMSVO EVOC.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- BLS CPR Certification.
- Haz-mat awareness training.
- Completion of NIMS: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700 & IS-800 courses.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience in 911 EMS for at least 2 years.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in vital signs monitoring.
- Willingness to learn and enthusiasm for providing community care.
