About the position

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) role at Health Quest EMS involves providing emergency medical care and support to patients in various situations. EMTs are responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, administering life support, assessing patient conditions, and ensuring safe transport to medical facilities. This position requires a compassionate approach and adherence to medical protocols and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Responding to emergency and non-emergency calls calmly and efficiently.
• Administering basic and advanced life support to patients at the scene and en route to the hospital.
• Assessing the nature and extent of injury or illness to prioritize medical procedures.
• Rescuing and extricating victims of accidents or sudden illness using proper techniques.
• Treating patients in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Communicating with medical personnel and treatment facilities for further instructions.
• Maintaining order at emergency scenes, including crowd control.
• Completing patient care and insurance forms in a timely manner.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current state EMT or Paramedic certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer or American Heart Association BCLS certification.
• EVOC/EVDT certification.
• PALS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Hazardous Materials Operations certification.
