About the position

The Emergency Department Physician at MercyOne North Iowa is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role involves working in a Level III Trauma Center with a high volume of patient visits, supported by a comprehensive team of specialists and advanced medical facilities. The position offers flexible scheduling options and opportunities for teaching residents and medical students.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists.
• Participate in teaching opportunities for residents and medical students.
• Manage both inpatient and outpatient cases effectively.
• Utilize advanced medical technology and resources available in the department.

Requirements

• Graduate of a medical/osteopathic medical school.
• Completion of an appropriate residency program in Emergency Medicine.
• Board certified or board eligible within three years of eligibility.
• Licensed or eligible for State of Iowa physician license.
• Iowa Controlled Substance Certificate and Federal DEA Certificate.
• Above average communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a Level III Trauma Center.
• Fellowship training in Emergency Medicine.
