About the position
The position is for a qualified Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant (PA) to work in a locum tenens capacity at a healthcare facility in Andalusia, Alabama. The role involves providing clinical care in an outpatient setting, with a focus on emergency medicine. The coverage is needed from ASAP until December 31, 2024, with specific shifts available throughout the coverage period. The PA will be responsible for supervising Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and will have access to 24-hour physician support.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care in an outpatient emergency medicine setting.
- Supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
- Manage patient volume of 24-26 patients per shift.
- Utilize EMR system (Medhost) for patient documentation.
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
Requirements
- Active Alabama medical license.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
