Emergency Preparedness Coordinator

About the position

Under the direction of the Director of Patient Support Services and the VP of Support Services, the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator is responsible for developing, promoting, implementing, and maintaining Central Vermont Medical Center's Emergency Operations Plan including both internal and external event responses. The Coordinator is responsible for all four phases of emergency management: mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Emergency Operations Plan for Central Vermont Medical Center.
• Promote emergency preparedness initiatives within the organization.
• Coordinate training and drills related to emergency management.
• Maintain compliance with emergency management regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for effective emergency response.

Requirements

• Associates degree in a healthcare related field required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.
• 3 years' experience with disaster planning, emergency management, or emergency preparedness required, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Nice-to-haves

• Training or experience in project management preferred.
• Completion of Certificate in Hospital Emergency Incident Command System (HEICS) preferred.
• Certificate and demonstrated competency in ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800b, Instructor Level preferred.
