About the position
The Roadside Assistance Technician role involves providing mobile mechanical services to customers in need of roadside assistance. The technician will be responsible for performing various tasks such as battery changes, lockouts, tire changes, and fuel delivery, often in challenging weather conditions. This position is classified as a 1099 contractor role, meaning it is not hourly employment and work availability may vary throughout the year.
Responsibilities
- Perform battery changes and jump starts.
- Assist with lockouts.
- Change tires as needed.
- Deliver fuel to stranded vehicles.
- Utilize a basic code reader for diagnostics.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Must have a smartphone for communication.
- Portable jump box is necessary for battery assistance.
- Lockout kit including air bag and long reach tool is required.
- A floor jack with a minimum capacity of 2 tons is needed.
- Socket set, impact gun, or breaker bar is essential.
- A 12-volt air compressor or air tank is required.
- A 2-gallon gas can and long-neck funnel are necessary.
