About the position
The Emergency Room RN Manager at TriStar Centennial Medical Center is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care through the oversight of daily operations and staffing within the emergency room. This role involves monitoring nursing care, ensuring adherence to established policies, and holding staff accountable for clinical outcomes. The manager will also play a key role in operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in the emergency room.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Manage staffing needs, including interviewing, hiring, and training new staff members.
- Oversee patient care on the unit, providing support and expertise to staff.
- Maintain overall workflow of the unit by ensuring proper staff levels.
- Manage and coordinate all unit activities, including safety procedures and department operations.
- Handle patient, visitor, or physician complaints promptly and professionally.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and counseling to department employees.
- Collaborate with other disciplines and departments to improve patient care delivery.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice required.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- 1-3 years of related experience required.
