About The Position

The Emergency Vehicle Technician Inspector at Technica LLC is responsible for performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs on specialized emergency vehicles, including fire trucks and firefighting apparatuses, in compliance with applicable regulations and standards. This role requires advanced technical knowledge to diagnose and resolve complex issues, ensuring the operational readiness and safety of emergency vehicles.

Requirements

  • Current Level I EVT (Apparatus) Certification.
  • Current Level I EVT (ARFF) Certification.
  • Proof of certifications for EVT exams: Inspection, Maintenance & Testing of Fire Apparatus (F1), Design & Performance of Fire Apparatus (F2), and Design and Performance of ARFF Vehicles (A1).
  • Proof of ASE certifications: Heavy-Duty Truck, Diesel Engine (T2), Truck Brakes (T4), Truck Suspension and Steering (T5), and Heavy-Duty Truck, Electrical/Electronic Systems (T6).
  • Knowledge of legal operation of fire apparatus and NFPA1911 requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 49 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and stand or sit for prolonged periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Master EVT or Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician with applicable EVT certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.), Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT), and Airport Rescue and Fire-Fighting Technician (ARFF) Certifications.
  • Perform scheduled services and repairs, including inspections on specialized emergency vehicles.
  • Identify and verify deficiencies on equipment for repairs and validate such repairs.
  • Generate estimated cost of damages/repairs (ECOD/ECOR) and necessary documentation.
  • Inspect components for serviceability and diagnose faults and malfunctions.
  • Order required repair parts or items needed for scheduled services.
  • Assist Emergency Vehicle Technicians with troubleshooting emergency vehicles.
  • Inspect specialized equipment on vehicles, such as hoses and fire extinguishers, and maintain documentation of repairs.
  • Utilize hand tools, diagnostic tools, and complex computer systems for advanced diagnostics.
  • Operate material handling equipment (MHE) as required.
