About the position

The Emerging Store Manager at Walgreens is responsible for supervising customer service associates and managing the front end of the store. This role supports the Store Manager in overall store operations, ensuring effective merchandising, asset protection, and improved sales and profitability. The position involves leading a team, engaging with customers, and overseeing operational tasks to enhance customer experience and store performance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise customer service associates and designated hitters.
  • Manage front end of the store and make recommendations on overall operations.
  • Support Store Manager with overall store operations to achieve company deliverables.
  • Engage customers and resolve complaints to ensure a positive experience.
  • Monitor customer service and provide coaching and training to team members.
  • Supervise daily store operations, including scheduling and task delegation.
  • Collaborate with external partners for community outreach opportunities.
  • Analyze financial and performance data to create action plans for business deliverables.
  • Lead and train team members, providing coaching and support for career development.
  • Communicate regularly with team members to ensure open communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a solid academic record, or completed Walgreens Community Internship Program, or High School Diploma/GED with two years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, strong communication skills, and business acumen.
  • Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete within 12 weeks of start date.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  • Management experience, including supervising others (internal candidates).
  • Prior retail or food industry experience (external candidates).
