About the position

The position involves supervising customer service associates and managing the front end of the store, with a focus on enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency. The role supports the Store Manager in achieving company goals and assumes responsibilities in their absence, ensuring proper merchandising and asset protection while driving sales and profitability. The position also includes leading and developing team members, managing store operations, and analyzing performance data to support business deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise customer service associates and designated hitters.
  • Manage the front end of the store and make recommendations on overall operations.
  • Support the Store Manager with the overall operation of the store.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance.
  • Resolve customer complaints in a timely manner and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Monitor customer service and provide coaching and training to team members.
  • Supervise daily store operations, including assigning activities and managing schedules.
  • Collaborate with external partners to drive store initiatives and community outreach opportunities.
  • Analyze financial and performance data to create action plans for business improvement.
  • Lead and train team members, providing mentoring and support for career development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a solid academic record, all majors welcome, or completion of Walgreens Community Internship Program, or High School Diploma/GED with two years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, professional business ethics, self-motivation, and strong communication skills.
  • Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training within 12 weeks of starting the role.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Willingness to accept promotion into a Store Manager position, which may require relocation.
  • Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets within the same hiring area.
