About the position

The Emerging Store Manager at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing the front end of the store, managing customer service associates, and supporting the Store Manager in achieving operational goals. This role involves leading a team, ensuring excellent customer experiences, and managing store operations, including inventory and cash management. The position requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to step into the Store Manager's role when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters.
  • Manages the front end of the store and makes recommendations on overall operations.
  • Supports the Store Manager with store operations to achieve company deliverables.
  • Assumes responsibilities of all store activities in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Ensures proper merchandising and protection of store assets.
  • Leads and manages store team members, including recruitment and performance management.
  • Engages customers and resolves complaints to ensure a positive experience.
  • Monitors customer service and provides coaching and training to team members.
  • Supervises daily store operations and assigns activities to team members.
  • Collaborates with external partners for community outreach opportunities.
  • Analyzes financial and performance data to create action plans for improvement.
  • Provides training and support for team members' career development.
  • Communicates regularly with team members to ensure open communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a solid academic record or High School Diploma/GED with two years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong communication skills.
  • Completion of Store Manager training program or willingness to complete it within 12 weeks.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Management experience, including supervising others.
  • Experience in both front-end and pharmacy operations.
  • Prior retail or food industry experience.
