About the position

The position involves supervising customer service associates and managing the front end of the store, with a focus on enhancing overall operations of the Pharmacy and Retail Store. The role supports the Store Manager in achieving company goals, oversees store activities in their absence, and ensures effective customer engagement and service. The individual will lead a team, manage store operations, and analyze performance data to drive improvements in sales and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise customer service associates and designated hitters.
  • Manage the front end of the store and make recommendations on overall operations.
  • Support the Store Manager with store operations to achieve company deliverables.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance.
  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Monitor customer service and provide coaching and training to team members.
  • Supervise daily store operations, including assigning activities and managing schedules.
  • Collaborate with external partners to enhance store operations and community outreach.
  • Analyze financial and performance data to create action plans for business improvement.
  • Lead and train team members, providing mentoring and support for career development.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a solid academic record, all majors welcome, or completion of Walgreens Community Internship Program, or High School Diploma/GED with two years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, professional business ethics, self-motivation, and strong communication skills.
  • Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training within 12 weeks of starting the role.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Willingness to accept promotion into a Store Manager position, which may require relocation.
  • Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets within the same hiring area.
