Meyers Nave is seeking a dedicated and experienced Eminent Domain Attorney to join our Trial and Litigation Practice Group. This position is available in our San Diego, Los Angeles, or Oakland offices and requires a minimum of seven years of legal experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, particularly in eminent domain cases, and will be involved in high-profile and high-stakes matters for both public entities and private sector clients. As part of our team, you will engage in all phases of litigation, from initial pleadings through discovery, dispositive motion practice, trial, and appeal. Our firm is well-known for handling large transportation and infrastructure projects, including transit and sports stadium developments. You will assist public entities in acquiring the necessary parcels of land for these significant public projects, providing both legal advice and representation in court. The successful candidate will possess excellent academic credentials, outstanding analytical and creative thinking skills, superior research and writing abilities, and a strong work ethic. You should have significant experience with law and motion practice, including dispositive motions, and a proven track record in building cases for trial, which includes developing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and taking and defending depositions. While experience in eminent domain or real estate law is preferred, it is not mandatory. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain substantial litigation and trial experience on a variety of public entity-related land acquisition issues throughout California. The salary range for this position is between $175,000 and $260,000, reflecting the firm's good faith estimate of possible compensation based on various factors such as experience, qualifications, and office location.
