About the position

The Emotionally Disabled Special Programs Education Assistant position at Campbell County School District #1 is designed to support students with emotional disabilities by assisting teachers in implementing educational programs and behavioral plans. This role involves direct interaction with students to help them achieve academic standards and develop life skills, while also performing clerical tasks to support the instructional process. The assistant will work closely with students in various settings, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing procedures and training materials for students with emotional disabilities.
• Attends meetings for receiving and conveying information.
• Conducts workshops and training for developing skills with behavioral disorder students.
• Implements programs for emotionally disabled students under the direction of the teacher.
• Instructs identified students one-on-one or in small groups to assist with IEP goals.
• Performs record keeping and clerical functions to support the teacher.
• Prepares written and/or audio-visual materials to convey information related to students.
• Promotes good habits to improve student outcomes and encourage development.
• Supervises individuals and/or small groups of identified students in various settings.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Job-related experience is required.
• CPR/First Aid Certificate (training provided).
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• M.A.N.D.T. training.
• Knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis and behavior modification.

Benefits

• Salary range of $18.42 to $20.11 per hour.
• Full-time position with a 187-day school year.
