About the position

The University at Buffalo (SUNY) is seeking an Empire Innovation Professor in the Department of Civil, Structural & Environmental Engineering. This position is designed for a highly qualified individual who will contribute to the academic and research excellence of the university. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in innovative research, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and mentor students in their academic pursuits. The role emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the application of engineering principles to address complex societal challenges, particularly in the areas of civil, structural, and environmental engineering. The Empire Innovation Professor will be responsible for developing a robust research program that attracts external funding and fosters partnerships with industry and government agencies. The candidate will also be expected to publish in high-impact journals and present research findings at national and international conferences. Teaching responsibilities will include delivering lectures, developing course materials, and assessing student performance in both classroom and laboratory settings.
