About the position

As a member of the financial consulting team at HUB International, you will play a crucial role in providing financial consulting services to a select group of clients. This position is focused on delivering analytics, financial analysis, and return on investment solutions, particularly for self-funded and Administrative Services Only (ASO) clients. You will collaborate with team members across various HUB Gulf South offices to present cost management data and solutions that significantly impact the bottom line for HUB's clients. Your responsibilities will include participating in prospective client RFP responses and finalist presentations, as well as client renewal presentations when appropriate. In this role, you will be tasked with providing detailed and accurate financial consulting to HUB's clients, especially targeting their HR and C-suite representatives. You will produce and present client-facing financial reports, which will encompass regular reporting, independent underwriting and renewal analysis, renewal projections, incurred but not reported (IBNR) estimation, actuarial analysis, and budgeting. Managing multiple deadlines and workflows in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining high levels of communication with both internal teams and clients will be essential. Additionally, you will assist in developing and enhancing underwriting methods and techniques, while also becoming familiar with data analytics. A comprehensive knowledge of carrier products, networks, cost management solutions, and various funding mechanisms will be necessary. You will lead carrier negotiations and contribute to the enhancement of client services and sales by staying informed about industry trends. Serving as the primary liaison between the Consulting and Financial teams, you will enhance communication and operational efficiency, manage specific cases, and undertake financial projects as assigned. Collaboration with both teams to identify and implement process improvements will also be a key aspect of your role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed and accurate financial consulting to HUB clients, particularly HR and C-suite representatives.

  • Assist in developing, enhancing, and maintaining underwriting methods and techniques.
  • Develop skills around data analytics and maintain comprehensive knowledge of carrier products and networks, cost management solutions, and funding mechanisms.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or technical degree preferred; High School Diploma required.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in employee benefits consulting, with knowledge of various funding types, underwriting, pharmacy and stop loss contracts, and cost management solutions.
  • 2-5 years of experience preferred working as an underwriter or with an underwriting unit.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office products.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of managing a high volume workload with competing demands.
  • Ability to travel to all Gulf South office locations and client sites as needed.
  • Valid Life/Health Insurance Producer License preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present HUB's analytic services confidently to clients.
