About the position

HUB International Limited is seeking an Account Executive/Coordinator to join our financial consulting team. As the 5th largest global insurance and employee benefits broker, HUB provides a wide range of services including property, casualty, risk management, life and health, employee benefits, investment, and wealth management products. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering financial consulting services to a subset of HUB clients, focusing on analytics, financial analysis, and return on investment solutions, particularly for self-funded and ASO clients. This role requires collaboration with team members across various HUB Gulf South offices to present cost management data and solutions that positively impact our clients' bottom lines. In this position, you will be tasked with producing and presenting client-facing financial reports, which include regular reporting, independent underwriting and renewal analysis, renewal projections, IBNR estimation, actuarial analysis, and budgeting. You will manage multiple deadlines and workflows in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high levels of communication with both internal teams and clients. Additionally, you will assist in developing and enhancing underwriting methods and techniques, and you will become familiar with data analytics to support your consulting efforts. The role also involves leading carrier negotiations and serving as the primary liaison between the Consulting and Financial teams to improve communication and operational efficiency. You will manage specific cases and undertake financial projects as assigned, contributing to the enhancement of client services and sales by staying informed about industry trends and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed and accurate financial consulting to HUB clients, particularly HR and C-suite representatives.
  • Produce and present client-facing financial reports, including regular reporting, underwriting and renewal analysis, and budgeting.
  • Manage multiple deadlines and workflows in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining high communication levels.
  • Assist in developing and enhancing underwriting methods and techniques.
  • Lead carrier negotiations and serve as the primary liaison between Consulting and Financial teams.
  • Manage specific cases and undertake financial projects as assigned.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify and implement process improvements.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or technical degree preferred; High School Diploma required.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in employee benefits consulting, with knowledge of funding types, underwriting, and cost management solutions.
  • 2-5 years of experience preferred working as an underwriter or with an underwriting unit.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office products.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized with the ability to manage a high volume workload.
  • Valid Life/Health Insurance Producer License preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with pharmacy and stop loss contracts.
  • Familiarity with direct primary care, value-based payments, and onsite/near site clinics.
