About the position

The Employee Benefits Account Manager will play a crucial role in supporting a seasoned sales and service team at a large, progressive insurance broker. This position focuses on daily service duties and client engagement strategies for a legacy book of mid-sized accounts, specifically those with 50-500 employees. The role is hybrid, allowing for flexibility in work location while primarily based in the Detroit office.

Responsibilities

  • Relationship development and renewal management with current clients.
  • Executing daily service strategies including preparing and writing proposals, providing quote comparisons, and performing benchmarking and financial underwriting reviews.
  • Creating coverage specifications, analyzing quotes, negotiating with carriers, and creating/presenting coverage analysis.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of group life and health insurance industry experience.
  • Must have an active Life & Health (L&H) insurance license.
  • Experience with self-funded accounts is ideal, but training is available for those with a background primarily in fully insured cases.
