About the position

The Employee Benefits Customer Service Representative at First State Insurance Agency is a vital role responsible for providing administrative support to internal teams in delivering exceptional benefits solutions. This position requires a high level of professionalism and customer service skills to engage effectively with clients and colleagues, ensuring smooth processing of enrollments and eligibility changes while maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers, colleagues, and supervisors on the phone and in person with a high level of professionalism and respect.
  • Perform administrative activities on client accounts including processing enrollments and eligibility changes.
  • Assist with record keeping and files for clients, including logging activities and documents in the agency management system and maintaining client disclosures for group accounts.
  • Attain thorough understanding of internal processes and team members' responsibilities to accurately and effectively provide services to clients.
  • Prepare requests for proposals by organizing data for quotes and reviewing current plan designs.
  • Work with Account Manager in reviewing proposal requests and obtaining additional information needed for quotes.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to pass/maintain Life & Health insurance license.
  • Strong sense of punctuality and attendance.
  • High school diploma or GED.
