About the position

The Culinary Sous Chef is a key leadership role in the kitchen, responsible for overseeing food production and ensuring quality standards are met. This position supports the Executive Chef and plays a crucial role in managing kitchen staff and operations within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee food production and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Manage and train food production workers in their duties.
  • Assist the Executive Chef in kitchen operations and menu planning.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
  • Degree from a postsecondary culinary arts training program.
  • A minimum of three (3) years in a food preparation position.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, coaching, team building and problem solving skills required.
  • Extensive knowledge of fine seafood, protein and poultry.
  • Computer literate in all Microsoft Office applications and automated restaurant systems.
